With current technological advancements, wearable technology has now integrated itself to be an important part of our daily health and fitness regime. Here are the latest wearable technology that you will not want to miss out on:
1. Under Armour Gemini 3 RE smart shoes
If you are one of those people who do not like holding on to many things or strap yourself to gadgets while you are running or working out, then you will want to own Under Armour’s latest smart shoes.
The runners released February last year has a chip embedded in its mid-sole that is activated every time it senses the shoes moving. The chip measures your stride dynamics as well as your distance. While it doesn’t have a built-in GPS, it uploads data via Bluetooth to your MapMyRun App and enables you to check your distance, time and pace.
The chip automatically turns itself off when you stop moving so you can be assured that your battery will last long – up to three years exactly.
Retail price: £140, currently not available on the Malaysian Under Armour website.
2. COROS Omni Smart Helmet
This Smart Helmet is a life saver for cyclists. Not only is it equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for easy music playback and phone call, it is also equipped with crash detection algorithms, and can send crash notifications to emergency contacts. Basically what it does is dial 911, and the registered emergency contacts when it senses its wearer’s life is in danger.
The helmet’s battery lasts up to 8 hours so you can rest assured that you are well taken care of throughout your entire bicycle ride. The helmet design also includes two light strips to give you more visibility.
Retail price: Available for pre-order at €95
3. Zackees Turn Signal Gloves
This is another piece of smart active wear dedicated to cyclists. This cycling gloves features a 54 Lumen LED Panel to help cyclists signal while on the road. All a cyclist has to do is put the metal plates embedded in the index finger and thumb together to activate the LED signals and signal to any traffic behind them.
While it doesn’t have anything too fancy compared to the helmet, it is definitely a great help to cyclists that are often ignored by cars.
Retail price: The Zackees gloves will officially be available for shipping on the 1st of April but customers can pre-order them for USD $55.
4. Sensoria smart garments
Sensoria is probably dominating the smart active wear market with their smart garments ranging from sports bra to socks. Sensoria’s garments are embedded with a sensor that communicates with its free app to help monitor your heart rate as well as give you guidance on how to achieve your fitness goals. Sensoria’s garments track everything from your odometer reading, foot landing technique as well as calories burned.
